The Club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of Jazz & Blues in Auckland.
The Club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday.
Each night features a different local or out of town band for the entertainment and sometimes an International star makes an appearence.

Auckland Blues Club: New Zealand Music Month

In conjunction with New Zealand Music Month, the Auckland Blues Club presents a celebration of local original blues.
The Auckland Blues Club will be presenting a series of workshops hosted by some of the best Auckland based musicians we could find covering topics ranging from guitar and harmonica playing to bass players and drummers working as a rhythm section and song writing.
Some of the region’s best live blues artists and bands will also be performing nothing but original material – no covers here!
Everyone through the door will go into the draw for a host of great prizes.

The Blues Underground: with The William Brown Band

When people talk about “underground” sounds they’re usually referring to indie rock, crunk, nerdcore or the latest ‘cutting edge’ form this week.
But when we talk about the “blues underground” we are talking about deep, dirty, old-fashioned blues with a twist – incorporating influences of jazz, rock, and even funhouse mirror versions of other roots forms like bluegrass and old-time mountain music.
The Blues Underground is excited to present this music which is raw and immediate and goes all the way back to the roots.

National Jazz Festival 2012

The Flaming Mudcats bring their brand of blues to the Strand 2 stage at the Downtown Tauranga Carnival as part of the National Jazz Festival.
The famous Carnival takes over Tauranga’s CBD on Saturday and Sunday, when stages along The Strand, Red Square and Aspen Reserve turn the streets into one large concert venue.
The National Jazz Festival is the longest running Jazz Festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world.
2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the Festival.
